Are you overwhelmed Friend? Are you looking at the days and weeks ahead and wondering however you’ll get through?

David was there in Psalm 61 but where did it lead him?…

‘When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.’

It led him to cry out for The Rock Christ Jesus.

Friends, is this where we run when we’re overwhelmed? Do we look to Jesus? Do we keep our eyes fixed on Him?

I think of Peter when Jesus was walking towards their boat on the water and he said to Jesus…

‘Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.’

Do we have a similar cry in our hearts in our hard or seemingly impossible things? ‘Lord, help me to trust and step out in faith.’

Peter stepped out into the unknown and with His eyes fixed on Jesus he walked on the water.

Friend are your eyes fixed on Jesus in your path?

But then what happened to Peter? He took his eyes off Jesus and looked instead at the strong wind whipping up the waves.

Have you been there Friend? Are you there now? Have you taken your eyes off Jesus and are looking instead at your circumstances? Is your heart is overwhelmed with fear and you feel as though you are sinking and the waves are going over your head?

What did Peter do?…

‘He cried, saying, Lord, save me.’

Ah, dear Heart, cry out to Jesus, He is there, ready to reach out His loving hand and catch you.

If God has said this to you dear Friend…

‘Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.’

Then the promise that follows is your too…

‘When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour:’

Psalm 61:2, Matt 14:25-32, Isaiah 43:1-3.

I'm a Christian wife and Mum of two. I love to study my Bible and create God centered items for myself and our shop. I also enjoy a variety of crafts, reading and baking. We are all quite creative so our house is often a hive of creativity! I have several chronic illnesses including Lupus and Fibromyalgia so I am very thankful that I have been given a creative mind to help fill the hours when I don't have the energy for anything else.
