Never Alone!….
‘So they two went until they came to Bethlehem.’
Naomi and Ruth, they walked together, not alone!
‘So they two went…’
Friend, it’s the Christian and Christ.
It’s the sinner fleeing to Christ for refuge, coming to God through Him because…
‘if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.’
A sinner approaching a Holy God without fear of rejection because…
‘he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.’
‘Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them’
‘So they two went…’
It’s. ‘OUR Father which art in heaven,’ it’s us then, as children of God, coming to Him in all our troubles and in all our joys, in and through Jesus Christ, Him pleading for us….
‘For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.’
‘So they two went’….
This is the Christian friends, this is the child of God walking through this wilderness life…. Never alone, two together, the sinner saved by grace and Christ.
However hard and rough the way, there is One with you Friend, One IN you, ready to reach out a hand to steady you at the first cry, the way need not be dark Friends with Jesus as our guide…
‘I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.’
It’s walking with Him by faith…
‘For we walk by faith, not by sight:’
‘So they two went…’
It’s…
‘Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.’
It’s Christ taking the greater part of the burden, making ours light as all our fears and concerns are laid on Him in sweet faith in the Fathers love.
‘Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.‘
‘So they two went…’
Friends, however hard the way, you need never walk alone because Christ has…
‘borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows:’
He has walked this way already for us in sinless perfection, He understands!…
‘For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come BOLDLY unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.’
‘So they two went…
‘Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.’
