Is God in our hard things?

Have you ever thought, how can God be in this, how can he ever work this together for my good?

Friends, God has given us all the ability to make choices, sometimes we make bad choices or others make bad choices and they affect us and God in His permissive will, allows hard things to happen BUT He will ALWAYS work ALL things ‘together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.’

What an immense blessing if, in the hard things, we’re helped to say with Eli, ‘It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good.’

Friends, God’s thoughts and ways are so much greater than ours…

‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.’

God really is in tender, loving control of ALL our circumstances.

When I don’t understand things and also, often to start my day, I like to think of how big God is in comparison to me and therefore so much greater and wiser.

Imagine how tiny you’d look if a helicopter looked down on your village or town.

Then imagine it looking on your county or state, you would hardly be visible, if at all.

Then think how small you are in your country.

Then consider how small you are in the world and how small the world is in the universe!

The world is 7,926 miles wide.

The universe is so big that it’s measured in light years, just one light year is 5.88 billion miles!

Our galaxy is approx 100,000 light years wide, so 5.88 billion x 100,000 miles wide and that’s just our galaxy!

There’s an estimated 200 billion to 2 trillion galaxies and that’s only in the known universe.

The known universe is estimated to be about 93 billion light years across, so 5.88 trillion multiplied by 93 billion miles wide!!

God measures THAT with the span of His hand!! (Isaiah 40:12).

‘To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?’

Nothing compares to the greatness of our God but that gives you some faint idea of just how great God is and how small we are in comparison and YET God knows how many hairs are on our heads!

Pull out a hair friend, seriously, do it….

God knows the new number!!

We are THAT intimately known and God is that great, He’s in loving control of every single cell in your body.

Whenever I think of these things and I often do to get my perspective, I wonder how we could ever have the audacity to think we know better than God, because although we may not say as much, each time we choose our own way, we act as though we do.

Friend, if you truly love God, He has got both you and ALL your circumstances, ALL your hard things in His tender, loving, merciful hands.
