God has promised to supply all our need…
‘But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.’
It’s easy to think of that verse meaning just our physical needs but this encompasses so much more than that. God will supply not only our physical needs but our spiritual, mental and emotional needs too if we look to Him in faith.
God supplies our needs, not so that we can achieve and do all the things we want, but so that we can live out our purpose – to glorify God…
‘Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.’
We’re not saved to live for our own desires and glory but for God’s purpose and glory…
‘What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.’
‘For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.’
So how do we do these good works? By looking to God to supply everything we need to walk in them.
Friends, there are abundant supplies of grace and its FULL and FREE.
You don’t have the wisdom? Ask…
‘If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.’
You don’t have the faith? Ask…
‘For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:’
You don’t have the patience or ability or resources? Ask!
Friends, some people say that God doesn’t give you more than you can cope with but I disagree, God does give us more than ‘we’ can cope with, He does ask us to do things that we don’t feel equipped to do BUT He isn’t asking us to do these things alone…
His grace IS sufficient.
Ah Friends, we weren’t made to glorify God in our own strength and wisdom, instead we were made to love our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. We were made to live in sweet communion with Him, walking in His ways, going forward in HIS strength alone.
‘And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.’
It’s not about doing, it’s about loving and abiding. It’s walking out the reality of our position in Christ, living not only for him but THROUGH Him.
Wherever God may lead you Friend, YOU can’t…but remember…GOD CAN!
