Friends, life can get overwhelming but however hard things may be, we have everything we need in Christ.
We are surrounded by God’s goodness to us. Most of us have family and friends, food and a home to live in and so much more.
Following Jesus isn’t hard Friends, those commands in the Bible aren’t just a list of rules to keep, to the child of God, when followed out of love their Saviour, they point the way to a joy filled life.
If we’re following Jesus, we don’t walk alone and life doesn’t need to be overwhelming because He is with us.
If you follow someone, you’ve got to be able to see them all the time, so to follow Jesus we need to keep your eyes fixed on Him through His word and the preaching of it and through prayer.
Friends, if we’re a child of God, we NEVER need to be alone or do anything alone, because both God the Father and Jesus are in us by the Holy Spirit…
‘Because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.’
Jesus is to us…’the power of God, and the wisdom of God.’
He is EVERYTHING we need, both now and for eternity.
Friends, ‘He giveth more grace.’ He has told us that…
‘My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.’
Wherever the Lord may lead…
‘God is able to make ALL grace abound toward you; that ye, always having ALL sufficiency in ALL things, may abound to every good work:’
- He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace. - When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun. - Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear. - His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.
John 14:19-21, 1 Cor 1:24, James 4:6, 2 Cor 12:9, 2 Cor 9:8.
