In our place…

Intercession – noun – the action of intervening on behalf of another, the action of saying a prayer on behalf of another.

‘Wherefore he (Jesus) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.’

To the uttermost!!

pantelēs.- translated ‘the uttermost’ also meanscompletely, perfectly, utterly, at all times.’

None too bad, none too sinful, none too filthy, none too guilty, none half saved…why?

Because Jesus ‘EVER liveth to make intercession for them.’

Moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day He pleads with the Father on our behalf…

“Since I can hardly, therefore, bear

What in myself I see;

How vile and black must I appear,

Most holy God, to thee!

*

But since my Saviour stands between,

In garments dyed in blood,

’Tis he, instead of me, is seen,

When I approach to God.

*

Thus, though a sinner, I am safe;

He pleads, before the throne,

His life and death in my behalf,

And calls my sins his own.”

*

Friend, God knows our hearts, He knows every thought and every deed, those things that we would never want another soul to know, but however despicable, when we come to Him in true repentance, through Christ, with faith, pleading His death on our behalf, God sees us as we are in Him, loved, forgiven, covered with the perfect righteousness of Christ!

‘Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.’

‘Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us:’

Friends, can you even begin to imagine a love like that? A love that…

‘once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:’

A love that was willing to take our sins upon Himself, to suffer in our place!!…

‘Who his OWN SELF bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that WE, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.’

THIS is who, along with the Holy Spirit, intercedes for us when we pray.

Maybe you don’t know what to say Friend, that doesn’t matter because God sees your heart, he hears your sigh and sees your tears and…

‘Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.’

So Dear Friend, you can never be too bad to come, “if you tarry ’til you’re better, you will never come at all!’ Just come, come just as you are…

‘Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye SHALL seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.’

I'm a Christian wife and Mum of two. I love to study my Bible and create God centered items for myself and our shop. I also enjoy a variety of crafts, reading and baking. We are all quite creative so our house is often a hive of creativity! I have several chronic illnesses including Lupus and Fibromyalgia so I am very thankful that I have been given a creative mind to help fill the hours when I don't have the energy for anything else.
