Freedom!

Freedom! What a beautiful word, what a beautiful thing, to be free!

But in spite of their freedom, the Galatians were picking up their chains again and it troubled Paul.

They had been set free from the bondage of the law, as has every born again soul, redeemed by the precious blood of Christ…

‘Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son;…But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?’

Friends, if we’re born again, we’re freed from the bondage of the law and the HAVE to’s become GET to’s.

We don’t have to follow God’s commands to earn our salvation or to keep it, we could never be good enough, instead, because of God’s great love and mercy, because of His grace towards us through Christ Jesus, He made a way…Jesus. ‘For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him..

‘Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.’

Because of this love, because of this way that has been made, we GET to keep God’s commands out of love to the One who…

‘hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.’

Friends it should be love and love alone that motivates our obedience!

‘Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free…,’Ah, Friends, the sweet liberty that the gospel brings!…’and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.’

No longer be bogged down with trying to earn or keep our salvation, no longer bogged down by ceremony and rules but fulfilling the commands of God through Christ, who, if you belong to Him, is IN you to help you. Fulfilling them out of love to Him for His great sacrifice for you…

‘For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.’

It’s trusting Christ to help us by the precious faith that the love of Christ shed abroad in our hearts brings…

‘For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.’

I'm a Christian wife and Mum of two. I love to study my Bible and create God centered items for myself and our shop. I also enjoy a variety of crafts, reading and baking. We are all quite creative so our house is often a hive of creativity! I have several chronic illnesses including Lupus and Fibromyalgia so I am very thankful that I have been given a creative mind to help fill the hours when I don't have the energy for anything else.
